About Greenville P. George

His headstone shows his name as Greensville but census and other records show it as Greenville. He is also recorded as being Granville P. George in the 1860 US Census.

Husband of Darcus G. McFall 1826/1829 - 1850)of Kentucky Elizabeth Ann Kuykendall (1829-aft.1880) of Tennessee.

Below is a listing of his known children with his two wives. It is not verified when Darcus died and he married Elizabeth but it apparently occurred after the family migrated to Missouri from Kentucky. It is known that the first five (5) children were in fact, Darcus's. I may have a child or two with the wrong mother otherwise.

Father of the following children with Darcus: Mary Elizabeth George 1844 - Catharine George 1845 - Pleasant Henry George 1846/1847 - Sarah F. George 1848 - Amanda Caroline "Manda" George 9/30/1849 - 3/14/1941

(m. James Bradford McDowell 3/1852 - 2/10/1910)

Father of the following children with Elizabeth: Lucy George 1/8/1853 - 12/22/1876 Narcissus George 1/1/1856 - 12/4/1880 Harman George 1857 - John Green George 8/6/1857 - 1/2/1931 (m. Mary Ann Lilly 2/1862 -1944 ) Simeon George abt. 1862 - Sina Latisha George 5/1/1862/1870 - 2/26/1946 (m. ??William H. George ??) William George 11/25/1865 - 7/14/1936

(m. Lucy Augusta Whitaker 6/6/1878 – 11/9/1974) David Franklin George 5/1/1868 - 1/13/1966 (m. Nancy Ellen Blakenship 8/16/1870 - 11/7/1951) Albert George 1871 - James A. George 10/12/1874 - 1897

In 1850 the family was living in Russell County Kentucky, next door to the Noel and Malinda George who were age 25 and 28 respectively at the time. Noel was Greenville's brother.

A Greenville George served the Union cause during the Civil War with the Osage County Home Guard Regiment.

His widow, Elizabeth, filed for a US Land Patent in Booneville, Missouri for 80 acres in Camden County, on 12/10/1880 so Green was deceased prior to that date.
