Greger Sorensen were Chaplain (Sognecapellan) at Vor Frue kirke in Nyborg, Denmark. He graduated from the school of latin in Nyborg on April 26, 1651. He was ordained to chaplain at Sct Knuds church in Odense February 16, 1660. That year he was assigned as Chaplain in Nyborg, Denmark

Greger Sorensen did not use the Hiort name. It was his son, Hans, that started to use Hiort as his family name.
