About Guillaume (Simon II Fils) Guillory

GUILLAUME (SIMON II) GUILLORY, son of SIMON GUILLORY and LOUISE BOUCHARD, a fur trader, was born and baptized April 14, 1670 Montreal, Quebec Province, Canada. Died after May 13, 1727.

Married MARIE ALY (ALIX/ALEE), daughter of VINCENT ALY (VINCENT ALIX DIT LAROSSE 1649-1689) and MARIE-DELPHINE PERRIN (1663-1689), born September 10, 1679 at Lachine, Canada died unkn. Both parents of Marie Aly, and at least three of her siblings, were killed in the Lachine, Canada massacre of 1689, when Iroquois raiders burned them alive in their cabin, along with many of the citizens of Lachine. Seven of the Aly children escaped the fire; one child, Suzanne, was captured by the Iroquois and held until 1700 or 1701, when she was released, probably as a result of a treaty with the Iroquois.
GUILLAUME SIMON II Fils GUILLORY and MARIE ALY were married at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Montreal on April 30, 1696; Marie was 17 years old and Guillaume-Simon was 26 years old.

From Rootsweb regarding Vincent Aly, father of MARIE ALY GUILLORY:
Vincent Aly/Alix dit Larosse, son of Mery & Louise Bouton, from Champagne-Mouton, (near Confalens) in the diocese of Angouleme, province of Angoumois was said to be 32 years old at the time of the 1681 census. Arrived in New France on June 13 1665 as a soldier from the Carignan regiment, compagnie de Rougemont.
Like many ex-Carignan soldiers, he settled in Lachine and was granted a land in 1673 (located between present-day 53 and 54th avenues).
He, and two other soldiers who were friends were married to the three Perrin sisters, daughters of Henri & Jeanne Perrin (Montreal, 1661):
Michelle Perrin, married to Jean Gourdon who was killed by the Iroquois in Lachine in 1691; Barbe Perrin, married to Rene Huguet who was killed at the same time as his brother-in-law Gourdon; as for Barbe, she was taken captive in 1689 with her two children.
Only she returned in Lachine in 1694.
Vincent Alix was married to Marie-Delphine Perrin in Lachine, on Oct. 4,1677.
They had probably ten children, among them:
1.) Anne ALIX born ca 1678 Lachine, Canada, died unkn
2.) Marie born Sept 10, 1679 Lachine, Canada died unkn
3.) Catherine ALIX born1680 Lachine, Canada, died August 5 1689 Lachine Massacre; buried Oct 28, 1694
4.) Gabriel ALIX born 1683 Lachine, Canada, died August 5 1689 Lachine Massacre; buried Oct 28, 1694
5.) Jeanne ALIX born 1685 Lachine, Canada, died 1686 Lachine, Canada
6.) Suzanne born April 16, 1687 Lachine, Canada, died unkn
7.) Jean-Marie ALIX born 1689 Lachine, Canada, died August 5 1689 Lachine Massacre; buried Oct 28, 1694
NOTE: In the 1681 census there is a Anne Alix said to be three years old. However, no one of that name was baptized either in Montreal or in Lachine - and there are no trace of her anywhere else(Possibly killed in Lachine Massacre). But another girl, Catherine, baptized on December 21 1680 in Lachine, is omitted from the same census (held in the Fall of 1681). Genealogists like Jette are inclined to think that there was some confusion in the 1681 census (not an unusual occurrence). The family was among those whose house was burned down, with the family inside, by the Iroquois on August the 5, 1689, in Lachine. Seven of Vincent Aly’s children were said to have escaped. Suzanne was captured, and later repatriated. (Following the event, the two dozens or so victims were
buried on the spot and it was only five years later that, following the bishop's order, the bodies were lifted up and given proper religious burials in the cemetery)
After naming all the victims, the parish priest, Pierre Remy added the following note in the margin:
Nothing was found of the bodies of Vincent Alix dit Larosse, Marie Perrin, his wife and part of their children burned by the Iroquois in their house August 5,1689, fire having destroyed skin and flesh.
The puzzling fact is that the parish priest did not name the children, as if there was the possibility that one or some could have been taken captive. Marie's presence in Lachine is attested at the wedding of her cousins, Anne Gourdon in 1694 and Madeleine Rapin in January 1696, three months before her own marriage to Simon Guillory in Montreal on April 30. As for Suzanne, she was held captive up to 1700 or 1701 and was probably redeemed or liberated when the peace treaty with the Iroquois was signed in 1701.

1700 April 13 Request by Simon Guillory, husband of Marie Aly, to elect a guardian for Suzanne Aly, held captive by the Iroquois in order to sell the land that belonged to his in-laws who died when Lachine was burned down in the massacre of 1689.

1700 April 14 Gabriel Perrin (uncle) is chosen as guardian for
Suzanne (Notary Antoine Adhemar)

1700 March 22 Perrin Gabriel, Mathieu Perrin, Michelle Perrin, Jacques Arrive, husband of Barbe Perrin, Simon Guillory, husband of Marie Alix and Suzanne Alix (under age) loose a suit in Court when they jointly tried to cancel the selling of a land in Pointe-aux-Trembles by their mother Jeanne Merrin (widow of Henri Perrin) to Jacques Coiteux, from Montreal.
