About Guillaume Michel Michel dit Taillon
Joseph Taillon, was one of the first settlers of St. Louis when it was founded in 1764. His house was described as being on the northwest corner of Main and Market street in St. Louis. he had come originally from the Indian village of Cahokia in the Illinois country. His father, Jean Baptiste Michel, had evidently been a soldier or "coureur de bois" and had settled witht he Indians in Cahokia.
