Age 68 and living in Berlin according to Marie Wolff's May 21, 1909 marriage certificate to Ernst Levy. Born about 1842? Found his Posen City family record! Lists birth date as 11 Mar 1841.

Gustav Wolff appears to have retired in 1909. The 1910 directory lists Gustav Wolff, Kaufmann, W9, Königgrätzer Strasse 17. Inhaber: Paul Wolff. Gustav and Paul are still listed as living at Krausenstrasse 37 II, http://digital.zlb.de/viewer/image/10089470_1910/3168/ Gustav Wolff, Rentier, last appears in the 1913 Berlin city directory, living with Paul Wolff, Kaufmann, at Krausenstrasse 37 II. http://digital.zlb.de/viewer/image/10089470_1913/3494/ and http://digital.zlb.de/viewer/image/10089470_1913/3492/. Gustav does not appear in any later directories, and I suspect he died in 1913/14.

Gustav Wolff and his brother Emanuel Wolff ran the largest oil company in Berlin.

Im Ballungszentrum Berlin standen die Brüder Gustav und Emanuel Wolff an der Spitze des dortigen Petroleumhandels. Am 1. Januar 1892 gaben sie ihr Geschäft an die DAPG ab. Als Ausgleich erhielt jeder der beiden Brüder 100 Genußscheine einer neuen, für die Übernahme weiterer Petroleumgeschäfte aufgelegten Serie. Der Petroleumhandel in Ostpreußen und teilweise bis in das Baltikum besorgte die als Aktiengesellschaft am 29. April 1872 mit einem Stammkapital von zwei Millionen Mark gegründete Königsberger Handels-Compagnie (KHC). Als Gegenstand des Unternehmens war im Handelsregister eingetragen worden: »Der Handel mit Petroleum und Waren ähnlicher Art sowie der Betrieb aller nach dem Ermessen des Aufsichtsrats mit diesem Unternehmen in Verbindung stehenden oder

• Found a 1916 Gustav Wolff oil company, with Leo Wolff in charge at Königgrätzer str 17, Berlin, now Ebertstraße -- don't know if this is a connection. A Paul Wolff is mentioned.
• In 1907, Gustav Wolff lived at Kfm., Krausenstr. 37. in Berlin. This looks like a match for the address he wrote on a 1909 Berlin Marriage certificates for his sister. The number is correct, and the street is hard to make out.
