Gustave Henry Tillman
LAWRENCE -- Gustave Henry Tillman, 86, of Lawrence passed from his life on earth to eternity in heaven on Monday, July 19, 2004, at his home.
Gustave was born on July 14, 1918, in Chicago, the son of Amil and Malinda Tillman; both preceded him in death. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He retired from Clark Equipment after numerous years. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener, who also enjoyed and loved his animals. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. A service to honor his memory will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sister Lakes. Pastor David Schaller will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Keeler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Gustave is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie of Lawrence; five children -- Don (Shelia) Tillman, Marsha Still, Robert (Julie) Tillman, Arnold (Chris) Tillman and Keith (Sheli) Tillman; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ludwig Tillman.
In addition to his parents, Gustave was preceded in death by a son, Michael; and 11 brothers.
