About Drogon d'Anjou, bishop de le Puy

DROGON d'Anjou (-998). The Gesta Consulum Andegavorum names "primogenitus Gofridus…Guido…episcopus Podii…tertius minor Drogo" as the three sons of "Fulco Pius", specifying that Drogo succeeded his brother as Bishop of Le Puy[90]

However, according to the French Wikipedia page of his father, Foulque II d'Anjou:

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foulque_II_d%27Anjou

Dreux or Drogo is named by some as a Bishop of Puy, succeeding his brother, but the list of bishops of Puy does not mention this name in the 9th century, and his presence in genealogies is probably from the confusion with Drogo of Brittany, son of Roscille de Blois and Alain Barbetorte, and stepson of Foulque II (he became stepfather when he married Roscille, widow of Alain).

GUY d'Anjou (-before 995).

The Gesta Consulum Andegavorum names "primogenitus Gofridus…Guido…episcopus Podii…tertius minor Drogo" as the three sons of "Fulco Pius"[66]. The Chronicle of Saint-Pierre du Puy refers to the bishop who was "frater germanus comes Gaufridus cognomento Grisogonella", clarifying in a later passage that he was "dominus Guido sanctæ Vallavensis ecclesiæ…episcopus"[67].

"Gaufridus…Andecavorum comes", with the consent of "fratre meo Widone abate", established the right of the comtes d'Anjou to appoint abbots of Saint-Aubin d'Angers, by charter dated 19 Jun 966[68].

He was appointed Bishop of Le Puy in 975 by Lothaire King of the Franks.

From the French Wikipedia page on Guy d'Anjou:

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_d%27Anjou

In English:

Guy d'Anjou, Bishop of Le Puy, was one of the main creators of the Peace of God. His actions, like that of Stephen II de Clermont, were prior to the Council of Charroux.

Biography:

The younger son of Foulque II Le Bon, Comte d'Anjou, and Gerberga, he embraced a monastic career. He was part of the reform movement that sought to restore the moral authority of the Church following the Council of Trosly in 909, spearheaded by the abbeys of Cluny and Brogne Gorze. He reformed the abbey of Cormery, and then became Bishop of Puy.

Bishop Stephen II of Anjou and Bishop Guy are said to have been in common men of integrity with a proven record for reforming monasteries. Both belonged to powerful lineages. Guy d'Anjou had the necessary military means to impose force at Laprade, overseeing confiscated property and ensuring delivery of hostages.

Guy d'Anjou died in 996.
