H Magdalena Bertschinger

Second wife of Cornelius Viktor Bertschinger of Lenzburg, Aargau, Canton, Switzerland. While living in Switzerland she worked as a seamstress and pattern maker for the owners of the Lenzburg castle, during a time that the castle was in private ownership. The story is told she lived with her children in the castle (Schloss Lenzburg). After her husband's death in 1877 she immigrated to the United States of America with 2 daughters (Emma and Friederike Johanna) and 3 sons (Fritz, Rudolf and Adolph). Her brother Antone Schindelholz was already in the USA and was said to be a cattle rancher. Her daughter, Emma was married to Jacob Mueller in Pleasant Hill, Missouri a town just north of Harrisonville, Missouri were Jacob and Emma took of residence.
