In Hanover, Jackson Co., Mich., Dec. 31st, 1879, after a long illness, my dear aunt, Mrs. Hannah Burdick, widow of Joshua Burdick, in the 85th year of her age. She was brought up in the Seventh-day Baptist faith, her father being a member of that church; but she made no profession of religion until about 38 years old, when she professed faith in Christ, received baptism at the hands of Eld. N. V. Hull, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church a few miles distant from her home, which, at the time was Alden, Erie Co., N. Y. From Alden she moved to Hanover, where she lived until the time of her death. Her funeral was attended by W. W. Sharp, Seventh-day Adventist, now of Battle Creek, Mich. She leaves a large circle of relatives and friends, who feel that their loss can not be made up in this life. But they mourn not as those without hope, for her trust was in Jesus, to whom she earnestly commended those she knew would soon be called to mourn her loss. H. Fleetwood
