Hannah Fitch, dau. of Capt. Jeremiah Fitch and Ruth Gifford, b. Jan. 18, 1700/1 at Lebanon, Conn. She d. Dec. 4, 1785 at Mansfield, Conn. Hannah was the granddaughter of Rev. James Fitch and Priscilla Mason of Saybrook, Conn. and later of Norwich, Conn. She was the great granddau. of Maj. John Mason of 1633 Pequot War fame.

On May 9, 1737 at Coventry, Conn., Hannah m. Humphrey Davenport, s. of William Davenport and Ann Edwards, bapt. Oct. 11, 1702 at the Hartford 2nd Chh. He d. Jan. 19, 1750/1 at Coventry, Conn. They had no known children.

Hannah is interred at what Hale called the Ancient Cemetery at Windham, Conn., on the Old Coventry Road near the Windham town limits. However, that description was erroneous and the correct cemetery is known as Ridges Cemetery at Mansfield in Tolland County.

Inscription: In memory of Mrs. Hannah Davenport widow of Capt. Humphrey Davenport who died Dec. 4th 1785 in the 85th year of her Age.

On the day Hannah died she was 84 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of her Age) 85.
