About Hannah Hillmer

Immigrated to US in 1860

Hannah Hillmer has a stone that says "Mother 1828 - 1909. Hannah and Louis Hillmer were the parents of 10 children 7 living in 1900."

I must mention that int he 1880 census they have Hannah listed as 51 years old. That would make her born in 1829. Again in 1900 they have her listed as 71 years old, which would make her born in 1829. Meta (Neuleib) Noard has Hannah in her birthday book as being born March 7, 1829. We cannot remember if she had the information before we started our research or if she added it after we read the census. Regardless of the year she was born we do know that Hannah is the mother of Emma (Hillmer) Neuleib.

The following information came from the City Clerk's Office, Geneseo, IL.

Hannah and Louis Hillmer are burried in North Cemetary, Henry County, Geneseo, IL Block 38 - lot 94. There are 8 graves in this lot. 5 of these graves are occupied. They have no record of anyone else being buried there. They inform me that before this could be verified they would have to take a test of the ground. By doing this they can tell if the ground has ever been disturbed.

Grave 8 - Louis Hillmer (a stone)

Grave 7 - Hannah Hillmer (a stone)

Grave 6 - Lyle Vernon Neuleib, Son of Marthc and Fredrick Neuleub. Born April 7, 1931. Lived 1 hour. Premature birth. Burried April 8, 1931. Lyle Vernon was baptized by his Aunt Bertha E. (Neuleib) Larson. There is no marker.

Grave 5 - Infant Neuleib (girl). Daughter of Martha and Fredrick Neuleib. There is no marker

Grave 4 - Walter Hillmer. Son of LG and L Hillmer. Born June 13, 1896. Died January 21, 1903. Age: 6 years, 7 months, 8 days.

-- Walter has a stone, it is almost unreadable. At the bottom you can read "Gone but not forgotten" Walter is the grandson of Hannah and Louis Hillmer and the nephew of Emma Hillmer Neuleib. Walter Hillmer's parents are Loius G and Louise Hillmer. They are buried in Edford Cemetary, Henry County and have a stone. Louis G Hiller is Emma's brother
