Hannah Bartleson was born September 20, 1810 in Monticello, Wayne County, Kentucky, the daughter of William Bartleson, Sr (born 1775 in Rowan County, North Carolina; died 1832 in Monticello, Wayne County, Kentucky) and Margaret (Grier) Bartleson (born 1780 in Cumberland County, Kentucky; died 1832, place unknown). Hannah married Absalom Miller on December 25, 1834 in Wayne County, Kentucky. Eleven children were born of their marriage:
