HANNAH "ANNE" RANSDELL MOORE

Hannah Ransdell was born October 22, 1758, in Fauquier County, Virginia, the daughter of William and Mary (Chilton) Ransdell. She married William Grant Moore on January 8, 1779, in Fauquier County, Virginia. Hannah's father was already deceased at the time of her marriage so her brother Wharton Ransdell was the bondsman. William was born March 5, 1753, in Louisa County, Virginia, the son of Samuel and Charity (Courts) Moore. Hannah and William had the following known children:

William was an officer in the Revolutionary war, he was a Sergeant and a Lieutenant in the Virginia line in the company of John Chilton. They moved to Fayette County, Kentucky about 1790 to claim William's bounty land where they lived the rest of their lives.
Hannah died October 1810 in Fayette County, Kentucky. She was buried on their Poplar Hill farm which is located 8 miles north of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. William then married Margaret L. Browning and they one one son. William died May 1818, in Fayette County, Kentucky and he was buried with Hannah.
