About Hannah Maria Savage
Mormon pioneer as part of the John Riggs Murdock Company (4 July 1861 – 12 September 1861).
Native of England. Widowed in 1849 when first husband, Joseph Hall, died. Ran a boarding house in St. Louis, Missouri.
Met second husband, Joseph Savage, in St. Louis and went to Utah with him.
Per the LDS Church History Biographical Database:
"Evidence from census and church ordinance records proves that the Savage family traveled to Utah in 1861. The family's travel across the plains is mentioned in her son's obituary. Joseph Savage was Hannah's second husband. She and her first husband (Joseph Hall) and their children crossed the Atlantic in 1849 on the ship Hartley (on the ship manifest the family surname was spelled "Hale.") Hall died at St. Louis. In the 1860 Missouri census Hannah is 'Ann Savage'. In the 1870 Utah census she is 'Annie.'"
