Baptized -- Anne Wines, daughter of Barnabas Wines/Windes and Anne Eddy, was bp. St. Clement, Ipswich, Suffolk, England, 1 March 1629/30.[1 below]
Immigration -- She traveled with her family to New England first, then to Southold, Suffolk, Long Island, New York.[1]
Four Marriages of Hannah "Anna" (Wines) (Nichols) (Elton) (Tooker) Youngs
One child, with Sgt. Francis Nichols of Stratford, Connecticut:
Francis Nicolls came from England in 1635 or 1636, and settled in Stratford, Connecticut, in 1639. He is believed to have remained for a time at or near Boston, as his son James is known to have held real estate in Watertown, Massachusetts. He was one of the original proprietors and settlers of Stratford, Connecticut, and his lands and proprietory rights there were distributed to his children before his death. An inventory of his personal property appears of record in the town hall in Stratford. It is supposed that he was possessed of real estate situated in Southold. Long Island. Of his first wife there is no account.
He married (second) in 1645, Anne, daughter of "Deacon" Barnabas Wines, of Southold, Long Island, by whom he had one child, a daughter.
She (Hannah or Anne Wines) survived him and married (second) John Elton, a wealthy planter of Southold; (third) Captain John Tooker, of Seatauket, Long Island, and (fourth) Colonel John Youngs, son of Rev. John Youngs, the first minister at Southhold.
The children of "Sergeant" Francis Nicolls (Nicholls) by his first wife came with him to America. They were probably all of legal age at that time.
Although Anne was still in her twenties when she married John Elton, they did not have children. He died leaving his estate to a nephew, who in turn released to Christopher Youngs, husband of Hannah (Nichols) Young, the portion of Elton's estate which had belonged to Hannah (Nichols) Young's father.[9] Anne was in her fifties when she married her third husband.
Soon after 3 June 1686, Anne aka Hannah married John Tucker, the following agreement having been written. " John Tooker Senior dwelling in the town of Brookhaven" and Hanah Elton of the town of Southold, widow," agreed " that if God please to join them together in matrimony, that they will faithfully perform the following articles" of a marriage contract.[1][6]
Married Fourth
Her fourth marriage was to John Youngs Esq. of Southold. There on 31 December 1690 they entered into a bond of three hundred pounds in favor of "Hannah Tooker widow of the said town". He promised to fulfill the terms of a marriage covenant.[1][7]
30 May 1695
Hannah was left a piece of property at her total disposal by her husband John Youngs which if left at her decease was to revert to his eldest son Charles. "Now Know Ye that I the said Hannah Yongs late wife of Captaine John Tooker, by and with the consent of Colonel John Yongs my now husband, doe ... quitclaim unto him the sd Charles Tooker, all my right title and interest ..."[8]
Died
Anne (Wines) died between 30 May 1695 (quitclaim) and 20 Feb. 1696/7, when John made his will and did not mention her.
