Charleston, Feb. 22. Hans Bluh, who has been in the United States only five months, having fled Austria when that country was occupied by the Germans, was the guest speaker at a meeting of the Kiwanis Club recently. Mr. Bluh was presented by Theodore Volmetz, who was in charge of the program, and the former Austrian spoke on the conditions of European countries which had been invaded by Germany. Mr. Bluh's father owned and operated a shoe factory in Austria which had been confiscated and during his talk he displayed a passport for which his father had paid the equivalent of $40,000 to enable him to leave Europe.
