About Hans Rusterholtz Brubacher

His father, Hans Heinrich was born and christened (9/16/1627) in Spitzen, Hirzel, Switzerland. In the 1640 census Hans Heinrich was listed in Felix Hotz household - Bachenmoss, Hirzel. Hans Heinrich was married on May 2, 1648 in Wadenswil, Zurich, Switzerland. In approx 1657, he emigrated to join his father Petter in Mackenheim, Alsace, France.

Hans was born to Hans Heinrich and Elizabeth in about 1658 in either Switzerland or Alsace. Sometime before 1661, they moved with Petter to Ibersheim Hof in the Pfalz area of Germany, There is a letter that shows Hans Heinrich and brother Hans Jacob as hereditary tenants of elector Karl Ludwig in Ibersheim, Germany, claiming the inheritance of their mother, Anna Pfister in Wadenswil.

Hans (1685) was living on a farm at Ibersheim in 1696, probably one of the hereditary tenants. In 1696, Hans had a maid named Ottilie Kitzer who lived in his home in Ibersheim. He possibly married a daughter of Hans Meyer of Nearby Rudelsheim (Ref: David Emigrants v2p.95). In 1698 he probably took over the hereditary rights to the farm after the death of his brother (Ref: Davis Emigants v2p95). On 13 Mar 1709, he signed a letter at Ibersheim as one of the Mennonite leaders. He probably died before 1738 as his probable sons Abraham and Hans Jacob were the tenants at Ibersheim that year. On the 1745 tenant list for Ibersheim, Abraham and Hans Jacob were listed next to each other and they were called brothers. His son Abraham's middle initial was "M" which may indicate that Hans married a Meyer or Miller.
