Hans Heinrich Yeakel became a large landowner in the Hosensack Valley, in Lower Milford Township, now Lehigh County, Pa. He purchased what was then known as the Hamilton tract, containing about 500 acres of excellent farm land, which at his death he divided among his sons. His descendants became quite numerous, and much of his property is still owned by them. He had gone with his brotherin-law, Gregorius Schultz, to the Jordan in Lehigh County, but the location being too much exposed, on account of Indian depredations, he returned in a short time afterwards and settled permanently in the Hosensack.
