   He arrived in America probably about 1717. Thought to be a brother of Chr istian Meyer (married Anna Barbara Bergey) and I'm showing them as such, b ut be aware that this is not proven. Hans Meyer settled in Upper Salfo rd Twp, Montgomery Co, PA. In 1895, the original homestead was owned a nd occupied by a great-great grandson of Hans Meyer, Jacob L. Moyer. (P er A. J. Barbara Ford, genealogist for the Overholser Association, provided the following which she copied from original deed on microfilm; Deed Book I 13/28 5, Recorder of Deeds, Philadelphia, PA:
This indenture made 10/29/1760 in the 34th year of the reign of our so vereign Lord George the 2nd by grace of God King of Great Britain betwe en John Myer of Bedminster Township Bucks Co blacksmith and wife Mary, Christian Stover of Bedminster Township taylor and wife Elizabeth, Jacob Beid ler of Lower Milford Township Bucks Co and wife Anna, Nicholas Lear of Pro vidence Township Philadelphia Co and wife Hester, John Fritz of Bedminst er Township weaver, John Fritz Jr of Tinicum Township weaver and wife Mary i, Jacob Fritz of Tinicum Township weaver and wife Magdalena, Christian Fritz of near Tinicum and wife Barbara, Abraham Fritz of Bedminster Townsh ip weaver and Jacob Kolb near Franconia Township Philadelphia Co and wi fe Elizabeth (the said Myer being one of sons of Hans Myer late of Skippa ck Township Philadelphia Co Dec'd. The said Elizabeth Stover, Anna Beidl er and Hester Lear being the residuary surviving daughters of the said dec 'd Hans Myer the said John Fritz the father being the late husband of o ne Barbara a lately dec'd daughter of the said late dec'd Hans Meyer. And they the said John Fritz the son and the said Jacob Fritz, Christian Fr itz and Abraham Fritz being four of the sons and the said Elizabeth Kolb t he daughter of the said late Barbara the late daughter of the said dec'd H ans Myer of the one part and Henry Myer of Upper Salford Township Philadel phia Co he being the eldest son of the said dec'd Hans Myer of the other p art.) Whereas Isaac Pennington late of Buckingham Township Bucks Co and A nn his wife together with one Caspar Wistar late of the city of Philadelph ia brass button maker by indenture tripartite bearing date the 23rd d ay of July 1729 did grant a certain tract of 216 acres of land.....situate in Upper Salford Township Philadelphia Co....unto the above named Hans Myer as in and by the said recited indenture tripartite reciti ng as is therein at large recited and recorded in Rolls Office at Philadelphia Book H Vol 12/142...whereas the said Hans Myer being (inter ali a) so seized of and in the aforesaid tract of 216 acres of land did in h is life time sell and conveyi a certain part or quantity thereof unto o ne Jacob Overholtzer so that the said Hans Myer demanded and was at the time of his death only seized of and 166 acres of the same whole tract..... as are herein after set forth and mentioned and the said Hans Myer dying intestate the administration of his estate was committed to one Jacob Oberholtzer and the said intestate lands whereof he died so seized as aforesaid descended unto the said intestates children and heirs herein named. Now this indenture witnesseth that they John Myer and Maryi, Christian Stov er and Elizabeth, Jacob Beidler and Anna, Nicholas Lear and Hester, John F ritz the father, John Fritz the son and Mary, Jacob Fritz and Magdalena, Christian Fritz and Barbara, Abraham Fritz and the said Jacob Kolb and Eliz abeth for and in consideration of 400 pounds....unto them jointly....pa id by the said Henry Myer at and before the sealing and delivery....as well as the receipt of a further sum of 2 pounds 9 shillings and 2 pence.... due unto each of the said intestates children or the representatives of each of them as their full share and balance due unto each child of the said intestate....and so likewise heretofore in due proportion unto them sev erally and respectively (for and in behalf of the said administrator Jacob Oberholtzer fully in hand paid by the said Henry Myer.) The heirs forever discharge the said Henry Myer (and the said Jacob Oberholtzer as admin istrator aforesaid).....in all the aforesaid tract of 116 acres of land whereof the said Hans Myer died so seized as aforesaid (part of the said abo ve recited whole tract of 215 acres) situate in Upper Salford Township. Beginning at a hickory tree a corner of Derick Johnsons land thence NE by the late George Widners now Valentine Boyers land 116 perches to a white oak a corner of the said late Jacob Oberholtzers now John Oberholtzers land land (on part formerly of the said above recited whole tract) thence by the said Oberholtzers part....land 5 courses and distances next foll owing to with-NW 98 perches to a corner post south 73 degrees and a half w est seven perches and 8/10ths to a corner north 54 degrees west 19 perch es to a corner north 39 degrees 15 perches to a corner and north 46 degre es and a hlaf west 56 perches to a post a corner in the line of an adjoini ng tract of 77 acres ofrmerly by the said late Hans Myer taken up of the H onorable Proprietaries.) Thence by the land adjoining tract SW 46 perch es to a corner post SE 30 perches to a corner post and SW 80 perch es to a corner post in the line of the said Derick Johnsons land then ce by the said Derick Johnsons land SE 147 perches to the place beginni ng containing 116 acres of land by the same more or less within the said l imited as well as of and in the aforesaid adjoining tracts of 77 acres al so in Upper Salford aforesaid.....warrant dated 7/31/1734 by the Proprietaries to said Hans Myer as by the said survey whereof in the survey in Gene rals Office at Philadelphia appears and of and in every part and parc el of the said 116 acres tract and of the said adjoining tract 77 acres... .the personal estate late of the said dec'd Hans Meyer so administrat ed by the said Jacob Oberholtzer aforesaid.

The foregoing List was upon Oath declared by John Stedman to be a true & exact one. Robt. Charles., Cl. Con. "At the Courthouse of Philadelphia, Sept. 11th, 1732... A List was presented of the Names of Seventy Palatines, who with their families, making in all One hundred & sixty eight Persons, were imported here in the ship Pennsylvania Merchant, John Stedman, Master, from Rotterdam, but last from Plymouth, as by Clearance thence." Birth: 1680 in Gundersheim, Germany Burial: Franconia Mennonite Cemetery, Franconia Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania Reference Number: 2716 Death: 1748 in Upper Salford Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania Note: From Meyer book of 1896 (page 332-333)... The homestead is situated on the south slope of the west branch of the Perkiomen creek, in the southern central part of Upper Salford township, about two miles east of Salfordville. The deed of Isaac Pennington and wife and Casper Wister, to Hans Meyer, bears date July 23, 1729. The land was bounded as follows: "Beginning at a hickory tree at a corner of Derrick Johnson's land, thence N. E. by a line of marked trees 220 perches to a white oak, thence N. W. by a line of marked trees 177 perches to a black oak, then by a line of marked trees S. W. 140 perches to a post, then S. E. 30 perches to a post, then S. W. 80 perches to a post in a line of the said Derrick Johnson's land, then by the same S. E. 147 perches to the place of beginning, containing by estimation 216 acres, besides the usual allowance of 6 per cent. for roads."
