Olaug Pedersdatter's husband, Ole Pedersen Kårtvedt, had set up to deliver goods to Kongsberg Sølvverk and had bought the large farm Berg from lieutenant colonel Richelieu around 1720. Olaug Pedersdatter Berg continued to buy up farms after her husband's death and in 1743 she also bought Sem, which she had previously contracted.
