Hans Johansson Thysell

In 1819 Hans Tysell was the schoolmaster in Sellshögs scholhouse in Tryde parish in Malmohus, Iän. He had come from Ystad in 1816. He changed his surname from the Tryde parish eliminating the r and de and then added Sell the first letters of the community. Hans changed his surname from Johansson to Thysell in 1826. Hans and Elna moved to Baldringe in 1823. Keth Andersson reports that Selshö is situated in what we nowadays call Tomelilla. It is a small village with a railway station and natural sites dominate this area. It is very flat surrounded by small hills and valleys and small lakes. There is a valley called Fylledalen (valley=dal) that is very famous in Sweden for many unusual birds and flowers. The nearest town is the very old medevil town Ystad. Selshög is situated just a few killometers north of Tomellilla. In the book dated 1883 Selshög is a little farmer village with a mill.
