About Hans Nicolaeszen Webber

Hans Webber was born Abt. 1620 in Germany, and died 1649 in Fort Amsterdam, NY. He married Elsje Pieters Van Hamburg.



Hans Webber was appointed Captain at Arms to the Garrison at Fort Amsterdam, on September 28, 1647, and died in 1649, and his widow married in 1650, Matthys Capito, moved to Esopus, where she was killed by the Indians in 1553. Source: Courtright Family Book page 51


On September 1, 1649, he was given power of attorney, by Anthony Barmoede, a Spaniard, to receive his share of the prize Tabasco. Source Courtright Family Book page 28
