Harriet Elizabeth Susan White was born 3 May 1858 in Mercer County, WV to Harmon and Sintha Mary White. Harriet was the 5th of 11 children born to this couple. On 31 December 1874, Harriet married Gaston Pierce Walker of Mercer County. Together they had 11 children, the oldest two born in Illinois and Indiana where the family is found in 1880. By 1882, the family was back in Mercer County, WV where they remained the rest of their lives. Gaston died in 1930. Harriet died in 1946 at the age of 87. They are both buried in the McComas-Crotty Cemetery near their home at Pinoak.
