Harry (26), a meat trader from Pofadder, was beaten to death with a shovel and iron pole, next to his refrigerated truck when he was delivering meat in Blouputs, in the Northern Cape, in August 2007.
"After Harry's skull was crushed with an iron pipe, the attackers apparently stepped on the unconscious man and threw stones at him," said Frans Bergh, chairman of the Lower Orange River producers organisation.

- In September 2010 Michael Witbooi (22), Andries Witbooi (30), Frikkie Beukes (27), and Hans Springbok (33), from the neighborhood of Cilliers and Terence Markus (18), from Cape Town appeared in the Lutzburg magistrates court on murder charges. They were refused bail.
- Bergh said several other charges of livestock theft, assault and housebreaking were being investigated against the four oldest accused.
- The accused were to appear in court again on September 21st 2010. They were to remain in custody.
