About Harry Gutelius Romig
Harry G. Romig received his AB. degree from Park College, in Missouri, in 1897. He completed his seminary training at Auburn Theological Seminary in 1901. He was ordained a Presbyterian minister on April 23, 1901. He was appointed by the Board of World Missions to go to the West Shantung Mission in China. After his marriage to Lucy Alexander, they sailed for China in September, 1901, arriving in China Oct. 23, 1901. He served as a missionary in China in Shantung Province until his retirement in Dec. 1942. This occured after having been under house arrest by the Japanese occupiers during WWII. He and Lucy were repatriated to the US on the M.S.Gripsholm.
