There are some documents and photographs (of and taken by HCBW-B) in the Campbell Collections, UKZN comprising: File 1. Biographical note of H.C.B. Wylde- Browne written by his daughter-in-law, and his photograph - File 2. Eleven photographs of the Drakensberg taken by Wylde-Browne. Other photographs by H.C.B. Wylde-Browne (also of the Drakensberg) are very large and are housed in the Map cabinet
Historical note (from the Campbell Collection): Harry Cecil Bickersteth Wylde-Browne was born in Pietermaritzburg, the youngest son of Harry Wylde-Browne, a magistrate at Graaff Reinet, and Lady Caroline, youngest daughter of Lord Pygot Moodie who came to the Cape from England with the 1820 settlers. Cecil spent his junior school days at Weston School, Mooi River, then went to Eton, England, where he completed his education before returning to South Africa. Cecil and his wife, Elia Penn Haw, farmed in the Weenan area for several years and then moved to Estcourt. He died of cancer in 1963, aged 65 years.
NOTE BY PROFILE MANAGER: Harry Cecil's grandparents were Donald and Sophia (nee Pigot) Moodie, and his great grandfather was George, Lord Pigot; Harry's mother was Caroline Maria Mackenzie Moodie, (and, to the best of my knowledge, not titled 'Lady').
