Hassan Hendricks

Hassan Hendricks was a true entrepreneur. The first Muslim in Cape Town to charter a plane to take pilgrims on Haj, he loved travelling and meeting new people. He was a successful businessman who started out as a tailor for people from all walks of life, including politicians. In the 1970's he set up a travel agency and then later owned and managed a car dealership. He carried his passion for cars and travel throughout his life and in his later years helped his son Zaki, establish a successful magwheel business close to the centre of Cape Town. But tailoring was his first love and he tailored well into his 70's. He is dearly missed by all his children: Faikah Behardien, Rawia Tayoob, Zaki Hendricks and Khadeeja Hendricks.
