Daughter of Joseph and Jane Bentley and wife of George A. Williams.
Black Hills Daily Register newspaper, September 5, 1911 - "Mrs. Hattie E. Bentley Williams, wife of George Williams, died at her home, No. 10 Parkdale avenue, Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock of Bright's disease, aged 39 years and 1 month. Mrs. Williams leaves a husband, one daughter, aged 16, and two brothers, J.J. Bentley of Deadwood, commercial agent of the Burlington railroad, and S.B. Bentley of this city. The funeral occurred from the Presbyterian church this afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Surback conducting the services. Interment was made in South Lead."
The 1881 Canadian Census of Bothwell, Ontario shows Hattie Bentley, age 8, residing with her parents, Joseph Bentley 43 and Jane Bentley 40. The census notes that Joseph was working as a shoemaker. Also included in the household were five brothers - James 19, Samuel 10, Walter 9, Charles 4 and John 2. James (J.J. or J.L.) and Samuel (S.B.) are both mentioned in the Hattie's obituary.
