Hedwig Gunst nee Shtein was born in Krusovice, Czechoslovakia in 1895 to Moritz and Roza. She was married Karl. Prior to WWII she lived in Selnitz, Czechoslovakia. During the war she was in Lodz, Poland.

Hedwig was murdered in the Shoah.
