Heinrich August Reineccius

Born and raised in Bevensen, Germany, near Hanover, closer to Luneberg, in Upper Saxony province. Emigrated in 1868 or 1869, according to records. One brother (see tree). Possible living relatives in the area today (Jan 2010)

 Noteworthy persons with the surname are recorded in Leipzig (Christian Reineccius, a prominent printer/publisher of the "Reineccius Bible") and in the Brandenberg province (Georg R was a well-established composer and music teacher, associated with J.S. Bach, according to biographies). Another, in the area of Luneberg and Hannover, was Reiner Reineccius, a noted Humanist scholar during the German Renaissance era.

Direct connections of HAR to these persons have not been established as of January 2010.
A possible cousin, William/Wilhelm Reineccius, emigrated to the U.S. and lived in New York-Manhattan, according to the 1880 and 1900 census. A musician, he played cello for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra for years. He never married, and had no known siblings in America.

Other lines of the name Reineccius emigrated to the U.S. in the 1800s, and later. Families in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Ohio and Oregon with the surname can be found today. with some related to HAR children of the first and second marriage.

 Others with the name remain in Germany, and possibly in France and elswhere in Europe. Blood relationships to HAR have not been established.
