Henry Dreier laid to rest last Sunday victim of paralytic ailment two years ago, died Friday The St. Paul's Lutheran Church was filled to capacity on Sunday afternoon with relatives and friends of the Dreier family who had gathered to pay their last respect to Henry Dreier who passed away this at his home on Friday morning after suffering from a paralytic ailment. During his illness he'd been forced to stay in bed or sit in a wheelchair. His condition became critical on Sunday evening and he passed away on Friday. Rev. E. C. Tolch had charge of the service and a quartet composed of Mrs. Marie Jimmerson, Miss Marjorie Miller, John Mouw and Richard Matzdorff sang at the service. Following is the obituary has read at the service. Henry C. Dreier, son Arthur and Emma Dreier, nee Peters, was born on May 17, 1901 in the Hanover community. He attended St. John's Lutheran Parochial school in Hanover and was confirmed on March 28, 1915 by the Rev. Henry Wehking. On March 18, 1925 he was united in marriage with Leora Grieme of Storm Lake, and the young couple settled on the farm southwest of Storm Lake. To this union two children were born, both who died in infancy. Mr. Dreier's mother preceding the death in 1932. Early in 1940 Mr. Dreier became afflicted with a Paralytic ailment for which he never again gained his full strength, being confined to his wheelchair or to his bed. In the summer of 1940 the departed one and his wife moved to Alta. On Sunday evening, Jan. 11 his condition suddenly became quite worse, and on Friday morning, Jan. 16, 1942, he passed to his eternal rest of the aged 40 years, seven months and 30 days. He is survived by his widow; his father, August Dreier of Alta; three sisters, Laura (Mrs. Roy Christiansen) of Alta; Matilda (Mrs. Robert Parker) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Helen (Mrs. Marvin Sierck) of Spencer, Iowa; three brothers, Harold, Long Beach, California, Arthur of Alta and Roy of Fort Dodge, Iowa The pallbearers were cousins of the deceased; Elmer Gertsmeier, Homer Peters, Virgil Peters, Richard Kolpin, Ralph Tolzin and Earl Peters. Burial was made in the Storm Lake cemetery beside his two infant sons. Relatives from a distance to attended the services were Mrs. Martha Dreier and Charley Dreier of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Mr. and Mrs. John Peters, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Peters and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Peters of Slayton, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. John Hinkeldey and Mrs. Will Wrase of Windom, Minnesota; Claud Brown of Lakefield, Minnesota; Mrs. Eleanora Braun, and Mr. and Mrs. John Huck and sons, Art, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Huck and son, Willis, and Andrew Huck and Mr. and Mrs. August Neiwohner Waverly, Iowa.
