HELEN CUNNINGHAM (aka HELENA CUNYNGHAME)
Evidence from the National Records of Scotland
6 June 1553: Charter under the Great Seal of Scotland which confirms possession of the forty shilling lands of old extent of Over-Auldhall, in the Cunningham division of Ayrshire, to James Dunlop, son of Alexander Dunlop of that Ilk, following the decease of John Dunlop, grandfather of the said James. The land in question was given to James Dunlop by his father, Alexander Dunlop, following the death of Cuthbert Dunlop, another of Alexander's sons. Alexander Dunlop, and his daughter-in-law, Helena Cunynghame, widow of the deceased John Dunlop, junior, also Alexander's son, are said to have been the previous hereditary owners.
