PONTIAC - The Funeral Of Helen L. Gingrich, 81, of Pontiac will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac.
The Rev. Nancy Scott will officiate. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac.
Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gingrich died at 5:45 p.m. Monday (March 13, 1989) at Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, where she resided. She had been in failing health the past two years.
She was born Oct. 11, 1907, in Pontiac, a daughter of Fred and Iva M. Way Shepherd. She married Delbert Cays in November 1934 in Pontiac. He preceded her in death in December 1947. She then married Emanuel Gingrich in March 1964. He preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1978.
Survivors include four sisters, Iva Pillsbury, Pontiac; Alice Wilson, Rockford; Thelma McWhorter, Richton Park; and Catherine Ryerson, Pontiac.
One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gingrich was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac, its Morning Circle and the Pontiac Rebekah Lodge.
A graduate of Pontiac Township High School and Illinois State Normal University, she attended rural Pontiac and Graymont schools.
Memorials may be made to her church.
