About Josephine Josephine Lee
Helen Josephine Lee, born 18 Jan 1868, in New Harmony, Washington, Utah. She married (1) Daniel Matthews, 6 Aug 1890, in Junction, Piute, Utah. He was born about 1869. Helen married (2) John H. Hancock. He was born in Panguitch, Garfield, Utah. Helen died 15 May 1947, in Torrey, Wayne, Utah, and was buried in Torrey, Wayne, Utah.
Helen Josephine married Daniel Matthews, and they raised an adopted girl. She then married John Hancock of Panguitch, but had no children by him. She and Hancock separated, and she married once after that, but there was no record. She had a fine soprano voice and played the guitar accompaniments to her songs. She particularly enjoyed duets with Leo Clayton of Panguitch. They could sing through an entire evening without repetitions.
She lived in Torrey, Utah, for years, with Hancock before their separation, after which she worked in the Manti Temple. Rumor had it that she married one of the workers from the Temple.
