Will signed on 26 August 1836, of Frans Johannes de Klerk and Susanna Catharina Magdalena Mulder, both born in this country, living at Bruintjies Hoogden on the farm Doorn Kraal in Somerset district

The portions of the testator's children from his first marriage to the late Helena Barendina Norberta Bester, viz. Hilletjie Levina Catharina de Klerk, Barend Jacobus de Klerk and Johanna Maria Barendina Jacoba de Klerk, are to be safeguarded by two honest and upright men.

The surviving spouse is to be the sole and universal heir, and to ensure that the children receive a Christian education.

If no children are born of the marriage, the testator's mother, Johanna Maria Durand, widow of the late Barend Jacobus de Klerk, is to receive her legitimate portion .
If the surviving spouse remarries, the estate should be valued by two honest and upright men, to protect the portions due to the children.
