Henderson Frier was the ancestor of the Frier family in Wiregrass Georgia, and a native of North Carolina where he was born in 1775. He married Delilah Williams in 1797 and two years later, moved to Bulloch County, Georgia.
After the death of his first wife, Mr. Frier married Mrs. Hester Mueller in Telfair County, Nov. 12, 1837 but there was no further issue. She was born in 1766 in N.C.
In Bulloch County, Henderson Frier was a Justice of Peace in the 44th District, 1821-1825. In Telfair County, he was Representative in the General Assembly in 1835, and Justice of Peace in the 437th District, 1837-1841. In the War of 1812, he was a private in the militia, the last of his enlistments being for 60 days in 1814 under Capt. Edmund P. Wester at Fort Perry on the frontier of Tattnall County, the "frontier" being the Altamaha River. In "Georgia Military Affairs Vol.4 1814 - 1819", the payroll of a detachment of Militia stationed at Fort Perry shows Pvt. Henderson Frier due $13. 861/2 for one month and 22 days of service from 18 Jan 1814 to 10 March 1814.
About 1825 Henderson Frier and family moved to Telfair County and in the formation of Coffee County partly out of Telfair in 1854, he was cut into that county.
He died in Coffee County in 1866.

"Henderson Frier, Delilah Williams Frier and Hester Mueller Frier (born 1766 in NC; m. 12 Nov 1837 in Telfair Co.) are buried side-by-side in the Henderson Frier Cemetery near Hazelhurst in Jeff Davis County. The cemetery site, located off Burkett's Ferry Road, can be found by measuring along the road starting when the airport beacon is opposite; after 2.5 miles there is an abandoned shack and an overgrown road on the left. Go an additional .25 miles to a dirt road leading off to the right at an angle. Up this road about 25 feet is a single bar gate across the road. The road leads up at a slight incline. About 100 yards up the dirt road is a trail off to the right. Twenty-five yards up that trail and off another 25 yards to the left is the old cemetery. The cemetery is located on the Henderson Frier homestead on land lot 415 of the First District of once: Appling, then Telfair, next Coffee and now, Jeff Davis County. The land is now part of the Cook Land Company and access is controlled by Mr. Robert Sears who has been pleased to point the site out.
The Henderson stone has a hand on the front facing one way and on the back facing the other. Under one hand is the label: "First wife"; under the second "Second wife." It has been over five years since I was at the cemetery site with Mr. Sears. At that time, the plots were overgrown, the stones had fallen down and there were trees laying on the graves. I paid him to have a work force clean the area, but have never been back to see what it looked like later.
The Satilla Regional Library in Douglas, Ga. has a Frier file with pictures of the headstones taken by cousin Maurice Frier before the storm disrupted the graves."
