Brink sold Schoongezicht to Hendrik Cloete for 58 000 guldens, on 23 August 1811. On the same day, Brink purchased a house and stand ('erf) in Stellenbosch from the estate of Elizabeth van der Bijl. Hendrik Cloete was the eldest son of Rudolph Cloete of Zandvliet.
By October 1825 the Records of the Cape Colony state that his brother Adriaan Philip Cloete had become the owner of Schoongezicht in the Stellenbosch district.
