- The identity of Maria Wessells is established by the will of Henrica Anthony. This will is dated Jan. 16, 1701, and was proved May 16, 1701. An abstract appears in Vol. I, of New York Wills, page 441, published in the Collections of the New York Historical Society for 1892: Henrica Anthony of New York, widow, will of. She mentions her three grandsons, Henry, Allard, and Nicholas Anthony; her brother Warner Wessells and his children; Henry Coerten, son of her sister Christina Coerten, widow; her sister Maria Aldricks of New Castle, Penna.; her brother Harmanus Wessells, late of New York Chirurgeon; her brother Dirck Wessells of New York; Elizabeth Sharpas daughter of William Sharpas, Town Clerk of New York, etc.
