1840 Census he perhaps was in Union PA with a holding of slaves on a property.
In PA Wills and probate records from 1683-1993 he was from Lebanon PA
Notes:
I have a theory that this was a mixed-race family. His "grandson was of dark complexion." Davids father fought in the war of 1812 and part of the treaty was to end slavery. It wouldn't be the first time that I've seen family members being "enslaved". Lack of DNA matches to other Reddig realitives, except those closets to David Reddig line on down. Oral family history told to me by my Grandmother of "black Germans". This family line was German,so this might be the case here.
