Came to America at age of about one year, settling in Wisconsin, and moving from there to Delaware County, Iowa in 1851 or 52. She was married to John Kaltenbaugh April 22, 1852. Six children born, four sons of whom are now living W. H. of Toronto, B.F. of Independence, Iowa, G.W. of Yates Center, and C.A. of Wichita. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

The Kaltenbach family moved to Kalida in the fall of 1870. They lived there four years, returning to Iowa in 1874. After living in Iowa for 6 years they returned to the farm they left and remained in Woodson County until the death of the father, John Kaltenbach, which occurred January 27, 1897.

She remained a widow for a year and then married Rev. Rufus W. Parks January 20, 1898 at Toronto whose death occurred August 21, 1911. Since the death of her husband she has made her home with her son W.H. Kaltenbach. Her age 79 years, 1 months, and 2 days.

She was an invalid for the last ten years of her life. During the past six month her mind became impaired and the last month of her illness she scarcely knew anyone nor could she speak. The funeral services were held at the Kaltenbach home. Six stalwart grandsons were the pall bearers who bore her to the grave beside her first husband in the East Side Cemetery.
