About Henrietta Pearce Hall
Henrietta Pearce Hall was sealed to Thomas John Hall on December 2, 1872, and he passed away about 1879. She married Elijah Minerly Steers sometime after 1879 shortly after the death of Thomas. In the 1880 U.S. Census Henrietta, 28, was living in Washington, Utah, with second husband, E.M. Steers, 44, and his plural wife, Marion, 30, along with Henrietta's son William Howell Hall (who was listed as Steers in the census record), who was one year old. Also in the home was Henrietta's older son, Thomas J. Hall, Jr., 6, and Marion's 2 year old daughter, Edna M. Steers, as well as step-sons James Retol, 9, and Elroy Retol, 3, perhaps children of Edna and her former husband. Elijah Minerly Steers was a Mormon practicing plural marriage. When plural marriage was banned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he abandoned all but the youngest of his wives and moved to Idaho. Family tradition has it that church authorities said he had forfeited all rights to his other families as far as the church was concerned.
Henrietta married her third husband, Albert Minely in 1901
