Monday, March 8, 1999 Henriette E. Austen, 96, also known as “Aunty Yette” and “Omah,” died Tuesday in Honolulu. She was born in Wailuku, the last of the Hawaiian-German Eckart family. She was a schoolteacher for 30 years, on Maui and Oahu. She is survived by daughters Roselani Giugni and Kanani Donahue; sons George and Edmund; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Cathedral. Call after 8:30 a.m. Interment to follow. Aloha attire.
