Obituary. DEATH OF MR. HENRY AKERS.

MR. HENRY AKERS, for 22 years a resident of Kangaloon, passed away on Friday last at his residence, East Kangaloon, at the age of 69 years. In the early days he was an hotel-keeper at Robertson, but for many years he has carried on farming operations at Kangaloon. He has left a widow and a grown-up family of 10 sons ond 2 daughters—all very highly respected as was shown by the large attendance at the funeral, which must have numbered close upon 300, coming from all parts of the district which took place on Sunday, leav ing his late residence shortly after 12 noon, passing through Kangaloon and Robert son to the Burrawang Roman Catholic Cemetery. The hearse was met at the gate by the parish priest, the Rev. Father Rohan, and the coffin removed into the chapel, the bearers being the deceased's four eldest sons. After the usual service, the body was removed to the grave, where the concluding portion of the service was read. The coffin, which was a cedar one with silver mountings, was then lowered into the grave. Mr. W. Allerdice of Bow ral, in conjunction with Mr. Simpson of Kangaloon, were the undertakers.
