HENRY ARTMAN

Henry Artman (Heinrich Erdman) was born in Poland. Although his heritage is German, it is known that he lived in Azufk, Poland prior to his emigration to America. He married Augusta Lamparski.

They bore 11 children. During the Prohibition, he operated a still in the basement of their home in Fairfield, Connecticut. He was a stern disciplinarian, but was a good provider for his large family.
