About Henry Lambert Barker
Harry L Barker was a supervising agent in the Secret Service and was in charge of the Boston office from August 1916 to 1939 when he was promoted to the supervising agent of the New England area. He served in the US government for 45 years in which he devoted 42 years to the Secret Service. Barker inherited his interest in the Secret Service from his father George or Barker who was in charge of the Boston district until his death in July 21, 1903. During President Harding’s administration he was transferred to the White House to extend protection to Mrs. Harding and served on important assignments and many other occasions. Endowed with the rare faculty of displaying tact in his investigations and contacts, he achieved success to a market degree through his career and on the confidence and respect of a host of friends in public and official life.
