About Henry Boehm, Rev

Methodist Minister

Methodist minister. He spent his life getting the methodist word out at a time when this was no easy thing to do. His travels and influence kept him well informed of the direction of the church. Though a clergyman and pastor, he preferred the life of a traveling preacher. His inexhaustible supply of stamina carried him for thousands of miles. Through these travels many more churches were built, and ministerial services began sprouting up all over the country. As they grew,he was always in transit, following up on the things he had begun. It was said that he was always mindful that there was someone above watching. A rough estimate claims that he accumulated about 40,000 miles on foot, and another 100,000 miles on horseback. His hands on, get dirty and get the job done attitude made him loved by his parishoners. Some of his churches still stand today. Reverend boehm preached his last sermon, after 70 years of service, at the woodrow methodist church in staten island. He died a few days later at the grand age of 100 years old. It was here that he was interred.
