The " 5 42 " specifies the location of his burial .The last column , which has been left blank , should specify who it was . This is left blank where a person is very well known as was Henry Clegg .

A tombstone was erect by some of his descendants in June 14-15 2000 . It says :

"In Remembrance of  HENRY CLEGG of Walton-le-Dale 

Born 4th Aug. 1788  Died 9th Feb 1865

ELLEN CARDWELL Born 15th April 1788

Died 7th Oct 1874 Who relied wholly on the

mercy of God in Christ Jesus "

Ellen's name is also in the Cemetery Register which shows that she was buried next to her husband .

Henry C. who died in infancy was buried near them .
