About Henry Clifford De Meillon, PROG

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Clifford_de_Meillon This entry need extensive revision based on the new documents discussed and listed in Cabri & James (2020).

Some sources say that HC died in 1856 but his burial in Port Elizabeth on 31 May 1859 confirm he died on or before that date.

Apparently all his personal effects were burned including watercolour paintings. No reasons were given but likely because he died of smallpox. According to Warren Morris of the Archives of the Catholic Diocese of Port Elizabeth, Henry Clifford never died of any disease, but died as a result of a fatal fall. but this has not been confirmed.
