About Henry Hunger

Buried at United German & French Cemetery, Cheektowaga NY. I (Tim Hunger) visited on 8/4/2009 and found an unmarked grave. Cemetery records show DOD 10/1/1911 in hospital emergency room after a street car accident. He was 29 years and 11 months old at time of death, so his DOB is sometime in November 1881. Funeral home was Schlager, and church was Our Lady Help of Christians in Cheektowaga, NY.

3/29/2010--received marriage certificate from NYS: Henry Hunger & Anna Weichmann were married by Justice of the Peace in Cheektowaga on 3/19/1906 at 9am. Witnesses were Michael Maier and Mage Hochwarter. Henry's parents were Michael Hunger and Mary Eckel. Henry lived in Batavia at time of marriage. Neither Henry or Anna were married previously.

Dear Tracy-Joseph Nigrelli had 3 children orphaned at the same place that Anna had her children (both of their spouses had died in the great flu epidemic) My mother Grace was one of Joseph's children. They married and raised their children together. I remember Anna as my grandmother. She was a kind and wonderful woman. A great cook and had a good sense of humor. I remember seeing a photo of her as a child. She was beautiful and had long blond hair. I only remember 3 of her family:a sister Sophie and 2 daughters (Gertrude and Sophie).

I hope this info helps in your search.

Tracy, I think that I can help you. My grandfather, Thomas Nigrelli emigrated to Buffalo in 1905 with his older Brother Joseph. They both lived on the westside near Busti avenue (acroos form the peace bridge). All of my grandfathers children are alive and can possiblly shed more light on this situation. Let me know. Joe

Please contact me by email and I can email you all information i have pertaining to this family.

I tried posting it but the web site was not responding and I will now have to retype it.

Anna Weichmann married Henry Hunger who died about 1911. They had 5 children. Anna then married Joseph Nigrelli and orphaned her children to the orphanage where she worked as a cook. Anna is my great-grandfathers sister.

Any help you may have would be great. Let me know if you need anything or if I can answer any of your questions. Is your family still in the Buffalo area?

Thanks again Tracy Weichmann
