Henry Kingman, along with his wife (Joanna Drake Kingman) and their six children, was a member of the Hull Party, a group of 105 people under the leadership of Reverend Joseph Hull. The group set sail on the Mary Gould from Weymouth, Dorcetshire on March 20, 1635. They landed at Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony on May 6, 1635. The group stayed in Boston briefly before heading out to a permanent settlement in Wessagusset (renamed Weymouth a few months later). Henry set about accumulating land and became what was for that time a large landowner (about 42 acres). He was a prominent member of the community and described as enterprising and energetic. Weymouth must have been a quite conservative place at the time because the Reverend Hull was dismissed from the parish for his liberal views and so moved to Hingham.

Henry died in Weymouth on July 5, 1667. He is buried in Union Cemetery in Brockton, MA.
